Libraries in the Middle and Starting to Advocate


ALA, Authors Guild, 3M Weigh In on Penguin Over-Drive Dispute

I've read a lot about the current state of affairs affecting the availability of audiobooks to library patrons and this one  most clearly explains it for me.

I especially like that they have given a word to the intentional obstacles publishers have in place to make borrowing their books from the library more difficult: friction.

Their greatest fear: frictionless borrowing of library books will send people to the library for books rather than to the bookstores.
