ALA, Authors Guild, 3M Weigh In on Penguin Over-Drive Dispute
I've read a lot about the current state of affairs affecting the availability of audiobooks to library patrons and this one most clearly explains it for me.
I especially like that they have given a word to the intentional obstacles publishers have in place to make borrowing their books from the library more difficult: friction.
Their greatest fear: frictionless borrowing of library books will send people to the library for books rather than to the bookstores.
